چکیده
Intermetallic molybdenum disilicide (MoSi 2 ) possesses unique physical, chemical, thermal, and mechanical properties that make it compatible with some ceramics (SiC, Al O 3 metals (Cu, Al) to manufacture composite materials. Its current applications, chiefly limited heating elements, can be expanded if its are judiciously combined those of other materials like SiC or produce ceramic- metal-matrix composites improved mechanical, functional, even multifunctional properties. This review presents a perspective on the feasibility manufacturing metallic-based MoSi A comprehensive discussion pros cons liquid-state solid-state processing routes for resulting typical microstructures is presented.
